Tovela is a small, independently-run tool that helps a family coordinate the care of a loved one — medications, appointments, symptoms, and records — in one shared place. It is not a certified medical product, and it is not offered by a hospital, insurer, or healthcare company.
When you create an account without an invite, you start a brand-new "Circle" — a private space for your family, completely separate from every other family using Tovela. If you join using an invite link, you're joining the Circle that invited you. Everyone in a Circle can see everything entered for that Circle's care recipients.
Tovela is meant for families coordinating real caregiving — not for storing information about people who haven't agreed to it, and not for any unlawful purpose. Please don't try to access another Circle's data or share your login with anyone outside your own family.
Everything you and your family enter — notes, medications, photos, documents, recordings — belongs to your family. Tovela stores and processes it only to run the service for you (including sending it to the AI providers described below), and never sells it or shares it with anyone outside your Circle.
Not medical advice. Tovela organizes what the family already knows and flags things worth asking the doctor — it never tells anyone to start, stop, or change a medication.
Tovela's AI reads photos and documents you upload (medication bottles, insurance cards, lab reports, discharge papers) and transcribes recorded visits, to save your family from typing things in by hand. Always double-check what Tovela fills in, and always confirm anything medical with an actual doctor or pharmacist.
Tovela is not a HIPAA-covered entity and has not been through any formal healthcare-compliance certification. Use it as a family coordination tool, not as a substitute for your loved one's actual medical records held by their doctors and pharmacy.
Tovela offers paid plans with a 30-day free trial. Plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from Settings. Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and reseller, who also handles sales tax and receipts. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for how cancellations and refunds work.
Tovela is run informally by one person, with no guaranteed uptime and no formal support contract. It's offered in good faith to families who want to use it, but there's no warranty that it will always be available or error-free.
You can ask to have your account or your whole Circle's data deleted at any time by contacting us below — we'll remove it within a reasonable time.
If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date below and do our best to let active users know.
